This week in school we have welcomed our German exchange visitors from the Gymnasium Osterwtz-scharmbeck school near Bremen. They had a wonderful 3 days including time in lessons, as well as a trip to Cambridge which included punting on the River Cam. I would like to extend my thanks and gratitude to all our host families.
I am certain that some life-long international friendships have begun. It has been wonderful getting into lessons this week and seeing the exciting learning going on - I do hope you follow our Felsted Prep School Twitter Feed @felstedprep to keep up-to-date with everything going on in School.
Staying with the languages theme, we were treated to an ‘Andalusian Assembly’ on Wednesday by some of our Year 6-8 Spanish pupils. They shared their knowledge of the region’s geography and culture before performing some restaurant and market-based role plays. It was highly informative and entertaining! This was followed by Paella for lunch as just one of the options.
U13 Girls' Netball IAPS Regional Champions
On the sporting front it is great to report that both our U13 and U11 Boys’ hockey teams have qualified for their respective regional finals after their tournaments at Redbridge on Monday. The U13’s were also crowned as Essex Champions; a wonderful achievement and something that we are all very proud of. We are also privileged to host the Regional IAPS U11, U12 and U13 netball finals this week. Yesterday, our U11 girls battled through the wind and rain to win the plate competition. They were naturally delighted with their gold medals. Today the U12’s and U13’s girls have both qualified to the National finals with the U13 girls winning their regional qualifier - many congratulations to all the girls!
This afternoon, we welcome our guests from Elizabeth College, Guernsey for a weekend of hockey. Next week’s highlights include World Book Day on Thursday and Swing into Spring next Saturday night.
