Year 7 Geographers Visit Epping Forest

Year 7 travelled to Epping Forest on consecutive Fridays to carry out their rivers field work. The pupils collected data about width, depth, velocity and sediment in the river, putting their classroom skills into practice. As well as this, they learnt the valuable skill of drawing and annotating a field sketch.

All of their work will be assessed in the classroom, through conclusion of their hypothesis and a write up of their methods and findings. Despite 7O&R being subjected to much greater temperatures than 7I&L, the pupils were well prepared and showed fantastic maturity to get through the day safely! Both days were extremely enjoyable, and the pupils gained valuable experience and skills for becoming GCSE Geographers!

Thank you to the pupils for their enthusiasm and thank you to both the Prep staff and the Senior School Geography staff who joined us on these days.
