'Space Careers' course at the National Space Centre

By Darina Mironova, Year 12

On Monday October the 26th I visited a Space Career Seminar in Leicester, which was organized by the National Space Academy.

Throughout the day, we had several talks by people, working in the space sector, including astrophysicists, a sci-fi movies consultant, Rolls Royce aerospace engineers, space meteorologists and many others.

The event was concluded by a science fair, where students were able to ask questions from people, working in the sector, talk to university representatives and take a look at some experiments.

This day helped me realize, how intersectional space industry is, and I was very pleased to see, that an equal percentage of girls and boys are interested in STEM professions nowadays.

I would definitely recommend for anyone, who is interested in having a space-related career, to visit this event next year.
