Senior House Christmas Feasts

This year's Christmas feasts, conducted in Senior houses across several evenings were a huge success, with pupils enjoying a delicious meal alongside laughter and games. Hear from some of the Heads of House below...

Mont's and Manor

On Monday, 14 December, Manor had their Christmas feast together with Mont's. We had a lovely Christmas dinner and were able to relax after the end of a long autumn term. It has definitely put us in the mood for Christmas and the holidays. It was also nice to have an event similar to the ones we would have had under different circumstances. Thank you to all the caterers who enabled the feast to take place.

Alex O, (Head of House - Manor)

Follyfield and Elwyn's

On behalf of Follyfield House, I would say that the feast last week was absolutely outstanding! It was an amazing way to get the house together and spend some great time making memories that will last forever. With delicious food, great entertainment and a personal approach, I would conclude that this tough years’ Christmas dinner brought some light into the usual COVID Life and as well allowed us to get into a Christmas mood, ready for the new beginnings next year!

Margarita M, (Head of House - Follyfield)

Our House Christmas Dinner was truly a special occasion for us all to feel the Christmas spirit and enjoy ourselves after a challenging year. The Follies girls all looked amazing, with everyone making an effort to dress up a little bit to help make the meal a memorable occasion! The Christmas meal itself was very tasty, with everyone eagerly anticipating the chocolate dessert after the roast chicken! To finish the evening there was some photo taking and karaoke back in house, so it really was a fun event! Thank you to the Caterers and everyone else who helped organise this social evening for us.

Annabel S (Deputy Head of House - Follyfield)

Stocks's and Gepp's

Last Tuesday evening the Gepp's boys and Stocks's girls joined for a Christmas celebration. It was a really fun and festive night with crackers, Christmas music and a delicious meal (depending on how you feel about brussel sprouts!) It was an excellent way to finish off the term as it got the whole house together, which is something we have been unable to do due to COVID 19. After the main meal had finished, both sets of Lower Sixth stayed for some drinks and a chat which was great fun. Everyone had a tremendous evening and we must thank the catering staff for that!

Kit M-J, (Head of House - Gepp's)

Last Tuesday we sat down in the LRH for our Stocks’s Christmas dinner, the girls were all dressed in their best Christmas jumpers, festive diddly-boppers, Santa hats and tinsel. We were able to celebrate the end of term all together as a house and thank our house team for all they have done for us; with a lovely Christmas dinner, songs, crackers and lots of chocolate. The Stocks’s girls had a wonderful time with a big thanks to our house staff and catering department!

Nyah M, (Head of House - Stocks's)

Deacon's and Thorne

On Monday 7 December, Thorne girls had the opportunity to enjoy a wonderful Christmas dinner with Deacon's House. The atmosphere was very festive, the food was wonderful and everything was full of Christmas spirit. Being away from home during the festive season can be tough, but during the Christmas dinner it really felt like a home away from home! We enjoyed the meal with Christmas songs playing in the background and we also had the opportunity to socialise with Year 12 boys from Deacon's house. With many restrictions in place to help protect the health of everyone in school, we were still able to safely socialize after a long time, which was a very pleasant experience!

Esma J (Head of House - Thorne)

This year Deacon's enjoyed a fantastic Christmas feast with Thorne. We all had a brilliant evening eating delicious food and socialising, and a big thank you must go to the catering staff for putting on such an occasion.

George C, (Head of House - Deacon's)

Windsor's and Garnetts

Last Wednesday both Windsor’s and Garnett’s enjoyed a festive dinner together along with the annual part song competition. With uncertain circumstances throughout the year and having had the requirement to socially distance, it was a well received opportunity to spend time together and mix houses before the end of term.  Thank you to all involved in setting up the event and specifically the catering staff for providing a lovely meal.  Wishing all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Max T (Head of House - Windsor's)

On 9 December Garnetts and Windsor's had a black-tie Christmas dinner that was followed by the long-awaited "Part Song". For weeks, up to ten people per house practised continuously in order to deliver amazing performances. Garnetts won, but well done to all those who took part! A big thank you also to the Catering staff, who worked so hard to make the dinner happen, and to the teachers that helped organise the event.
