On Thursday the 26th September, the Prep School Ross Hall played host to this year’s first Mathematics Information Evening - and what an evening it was!
The hall was filled with enthusiastic discussion as we explored what “Mathematics Mastery” means at Felsted, and looked closely at the structure of a learning sequence across Keystage Two.
Parents and teachers alike were then given the opportunity to persevere through problems which are designed to test the children’s fluency and mathematical reasoning skills. Following on from this, we went on to learn more about ‘Mathletics’ and how this can be used to support the children in developing their fluency skills.
I am incredibly grateful to those parents, and staff who came out to support the Mathematics department on this occasion. Together I know that we can cement in place the idea that Mathematics is not a secret language, everyone can enjoy Mathematics and everyone can be successful in Mathematics.
