Felsted students, Peter Hipkin and James Austin recently took advantage of the Financial Times' Student Programme and spent the 28th of November in London at the FT's Brexit and Beyond Summit.
The two A Level Economists listened to a mix of keynote speeches, interviews and panel discussions with the likes of former PM Tony Blair, the Chief Executives of Flybe, Honda, Siemens and the Nationwide Building Society, and government representatives from France and Japan, on what looks likely to be one of the most significant events in recent UK economic history.
James reported that they "... found the day an excellent insight into the subject, as it can be very easy to only educate yourself on political subjects through the discourse of politicians; hearing the views of business leaders has shone a different light onto a very complex topic of debate."
Hopefully more economists will be able to take advantage of the student places available at such events in the future.
