Felsted School celebrates A Level results and all-round pupil achievements

Felsted School celebrates A Level results and all-round pupil achievements

Felsted School is delighted to celebrate the excellent achievements of its pupils in this year’s A Level & BTEC examinations, marking another year of academic achievement and progress beyond the classroom.

Building on our fantastic IB outcomes, we are proud of the efforts of all of our pupils, with two-thirds achieving A*-B or equivalent. These successes reflect the dedication and ambition of Felstedians, supported by expert teaching and a vibrant learning environment.

With such impressive results, many pupils have secured places at some of the world’s leading universities, conservatoires, and prestigious apprenticeship programmes, including Cambridge, Durham, Edinburgh, UCL, Warwick, Exeter, and Nottingham as well as universities across the world, including Berklee Music College, several top institutions in Europe and even as far afield as Sydney University.

Key Highlights:

  • 90% of Felsted pupils are going to their university of choice
  • When A Level and IB results are combined for this year group, 34% of all entries were graded at A or higher
  • Of Felsted’s top set GCSE pupils (the equivalent of grammar school intake), 89% of all grades were A*-B at A Level

Chris Townsend, Felsted Head, shared his congratulations: “The Class of 2025 should be incredibly proud of the hard work and determination they have shown in achieving these A Level and BTEC results. It is inspiring to see our pupils not only excelling academically, but also contributing so much to the life of the school through sport, music, drama, the arts, charitable initiatives, and service to the community. They have been a year group full of talent, creativity, and generosity of spirit, and I know they will continue to make a positive impact wherever their next steps take them.”

Felsted’s top A Level achievers were Tegan Clark,  Arthur Marsh-Bourdon and Phoebe Holmes.

Tegan achieved an exceptional set of results with four A* grades in Chemistry, Biology, Psychology and Maths and is heading to Cambridge University to study Veterinary Medicine. Having joined Felsted in Reception 14 years ago, Tegan has embraced every stage of school life and developed into an accomplished academic and active member of the Felsted Family. She has particularly thrived in sport, playing a key role in the Hockey and Netball teams across the years.

Tegan comments: “My time at Felsted has been fun, busy and engaging and I’d like to thank all of my teachers for their encouragement and keeping me on track, especially during my final year”.

Arthur has secured a place at King’s College, London to study Computer Science MSc after achieving A* grades in Maths and Computer Science and A grades in Further Maths and Physics. Arthur aspires to have a career in emerging sectors including AI and Financial Technology. During his time at Felsted he was a 1st team Hockey and Football player as well as captain of the Basketball team. He comments; “Felsted has given me the great opportunity to pursue both academics and sports, for which I am really thankful.”

Deputy Head of School, Phoebe, has also been at Felsted since Reception and achieved four A grades in German, Spanish, Latin and History. During her time at Felsted she has been involved in sport and academic extension activities such as Round Square as well as Model United Nations where she developed her interest in pursuing Human Rights Law.

After taking a gap year Phoebe will be taking up a place at Trinity Hall, Cambridge, studying German and Spanish before hopefully undertaking a law conversion. Phoebe comments: "I've had an unforgettable time at Felsted - loved every minute of it and I’m really sad to say goodbye to the school”.

These academic achievements follow a strong set of International Baccalaureate Diploma results in July, where Felstedians achieved an impressive average score of 34 points, with a 100% pass rate, well above the global average of 30.

The Class of 2025 also leaves behind a rich legacy beyond the classroom from winning regional and national sporting honours, staging professional-standard drama and musical productions, and showcasing creative talent through exhibitions and concerts, as well as raising significant funds for charitable causes and dedicating many hours to volunteering in the local community.
