Felsted Prep School Earn Two More Quality Mark Awards
Felsted Prep School have been awarded two nationally recognised awards; the Primary Geography Quality Mark (PGQM) Silver Award and the Basic Skills Primary Quality Mark (BSPQM).
The PGQM is a powerful auditing and accreditation tool that enables a school to review, share and build on best practice to ensure that each and every pupil is engaged in dynamic and engaging learning. Felsted Prep School was reviewed and assessed on their application of Geography to the real world, as well as the academic one and how this is taught through imaginative and creative activities and challenges. To achieve the Silver award, Felsted demonstrated that
“they lead an effective whole school approach to support excellence in Geography”.
Geographical Association leader for the PGQM award, Paula Owens commented; These subject leaders have worked extremely hard to evidence not just what has been achieved but to show how it has impacted where it matters: on pupils’ learning, understanding and enjoyment of the subject.
Meanwhile, the BSPQM is awarded based on ten elements of teaching and learning put into whole school practice. These include the support of children at every level, from those underachieving to those excelling, and putting an effective procedure in place for monitoring and planning improvement in performance.
This is a great achievement for Felsted, who already hold the Early Years, Primary Science and Sports Quality Marks for excellence in these provisions and continually strive for excellence in all areas of the School.
Mr Simon James, Headmaster of Felsted Prep School.
