Felsted Business Students Secure Their Place in ICAEW National Final

Six Felsted School Business and Economics students have made it through to the National Final of the prestigious Institute of Chartered Accounts in England and Wales (ICAEW) BASE competition 2018.

The first round was to take on the role of an ICAEW Chartered Accountant and complete an online business-related game. The students received detailed feedback on their key strengths which may be useful for UCAS and job applications in the future. The individuals were then formed into a team of 4-6 other pupils from the same school for the remainder of the competition. Following a team challenge, the Felsted team was shortlisted to go through to the final round, which involved a short presentation based on their response to the challenge so far, which was presented via video link to a live audience.

The Felsted team’s live video presentation was a huge success and they were chosen as one of the top 48 teams in the country to be invited to the BASE National Final on 27th- 28th June at the Hilton Hotel Birmingham. They will undertake one brand new challenge with the support of an ICAEW mentor to win a number of prestigious skills-related prizes.

It is a great achievement to have won through to this prestigious final; the students have worked collaboratively, giving up their spare time to work on the previous rounds.
