In December 2018 Felsted hosted a Careers & Higher Education Fair. The Fair consisted of over 50 stands with representatives from International and UK Higher Education Institutions, GAP year companies and a wide variety of business areas.
Students were invited to attend to see and talk about the many opportunities open to them in later life.
Luke Stringer, Year 10, attended the fair and chose to write about the experience in his Felsted Diploma. You’ll see from Luke’s entry below that thinking ahead can be a positive and enlightening experience.
“I attended the Careers Fair on the 6th of December. As of this moment I am not sure what I want to do for a job.
As such, it was useful just to talk to a range of people to find out more about opportunities. I spoke to several universities including Durham and East Anglia, and found out lots of information about regular degrees, Sandwich courses and Apprenticeship degrees.
I also spoke to several engineering companies who offer work placements alongside education and on the back of this have applied for work experience with Leonardo Engineering. I found it was really useful just to see what is out there so I can plan to keep my options open until I have a better idea to what I may want to do”
