An Action-Packed Half Term for Deacon's Boys

by Seth D, Ben H and Daniel A (Lower Sixth)

This first half of the term has been action-packed with the first Friday night house activity being the now traditional football competition and a quiz night. With a range of different activities each Friday night the bond between the Deacon’s brotherhood has only grown stronger, experiencing these activities together. Of course, the highlight of the half term was Mr Bury’s birthday!

Outside of Friday nights, we also had a Year 9 vs 10 football match with the Year 10s coming out on top in a 4-2 scoreline. However, there was an outstanding performance from the Year 9s putting up a great fight against the older boys creating a close and entertaining match; both sets of boys are feeling confident ahead of the Inter-House Football competitions later this term  We also saw the Lower Sixth boys go head-to-head in a battle for the Ephor positions. All the boys that took part did a great job and really showcased their abilities. The positions will be announced on our return in November, so until then we will just have to wait and try to calm our nerves!

Overall, this half term has been successful and eventful, with all the boys enjoying it thoroughly. We can’t wait for the rest of the term to see what further success will come our way.
