Supporting Felsted

My favourite moment was when I found out that I had been awarded the bursary for my final year and that I would be able to finish my secondary school education at Felsted. My life changed significantly that day and I wouldn’t be where I am today had it not happened.Jana Strédanska (tn 2016-18)

Help us transform lives and life chances through Bursaries

We know that individual potential is spread evenly across the community, but the means to make the most of that potential is not. In a society that is looking increasingly divided, we want to do much more to build equity, foster talent, and transform individual life chances.

At Felsted, we live by our values. This is a school that strives to be inclusive and open-minded. We are a Felsted Family that develops character and integrity. We challenge our young people to reach their full potential; to support and respect each other - and to make a difference.

The logical extension of our values is our commitment to access; to building our bursary funds so many more young people can benefit from all Felsted has to offer.
We already provide a significant amount of means-tested support at varying levels, and also cover cases of unexpected hardship. In the last academic year, we assisted 76 pupils, with an additional 11 pupils receiving bursaries of 100% or thereabouts.

We work with our partners at Royal Docks Academy (based in Newham, adjacent to the Felsted Mission) and the Royal National Children’s Springboard Foundation to bring several young people per year to Felsted for Sixth Form on fully-funded boarding places.

As well as transforming lives through opportunity, we know diverse experiences and ideas foster new ways of thinking - and aid learning. Embracing students from a wide range of backgrounds makes the school a better place - and enriches the experience for all.

We want to do more but we can’t do it alone.

Help us transform the lives of young people who could not otherwise access a Felsted education, enabling them to achieve their full potential and make a difference in the world.

Felsted was a great period of my life that I am so happy I was lucky enough to experience. I’m completely grateful to everyone who was in my corner from the beginning and showed me nothing but kindness.Shola Akindayini (fmn 2009-19)

I spent seven years being incredibly grateful for the opportunity that I had to attend Felsted, and am sure that the impact of this generosity will be seen throughout my life as I put into practise all that Felsted taught me.Bursary recipient and current Masters student, University of Cambridge
