By Air:
London Stansted is the nearest airport, only a 15 minute journey by taxi, and has regular scheduled flights from all UK, European and International destinations. London Heathrow and London Gatwick are approximately one hour away by car.
By Rail:
The nearest main line stations are Chelmsford and Stansted, both are approximately a 20 minute taxi journey away.
By Road:
The most direct routes to Felsted are via the A12, A120 and M11 Junction 8 (Stansted).
From the A12 South:
Ignore all turnings to Chelmsford and leave the A12 to the north of the town signposted Chelmsford, Springfield, A130. Join the A130 and follow signs for Great Dunmow, travel for 5 miles, and then turn right onto the B1417. Continue for 2.5 miles and you will enter Felsted. Turn right at this junction onto the Braintree Road. A little further on your left you will find the signs for Main School Reception for the Senior School on your left hand side. Turn left here into Stebbing Road and the entrance gates will then be found on your right hand side opposite the School Chapel. Visitors to Felsted Prep School need not turn into Stebbing Road, but will find entrance signs on the right hand side on Braintree Road.
From the M11 & A120 West:
Exit M11 at Junction 8a (from the South) or at Junction 8 (from the North) and join the A120 signposted Colchester / Harwich. Leave the A120 at the Dunmow South Junction. Take the first exit at the roundabout and after 1/2 mile take the second exit at the next roundabout onto the B1256. After 1 mile turn right signposted to Felsted. Drive straight through the village on Braintree Road, past the Post Office on your left. A little further on your left you will find the signs for Main School Reception for the Senior School. Turn left here into Stebbing Road and the entrance gates will then be found on your right hand side opposite the School Chapel.
Visitors to Felsted Prep School need not turn into Stebbing Road, but will find entrance signs on the right hand side on Braintree Road.
From the A12 North & A120 East:
Leave the A12 at Marks Tey and join the A120 signposted to Braintree and Stansted. At Braintree remain on the A120 towards Stansted. After 5 miles approx. exit the A120 onto the B1417 and follow the signs to Felsted. Drive straight through the village on Braintree Road. As you pass The Chequers Public House, you will see the signs for Main School Reception for the Senior School on your right hand side. Turn right here into Stebbing Road and the entrance gates will then be found on your right hand side opposite the School Chapel. Visitors to Felsted Prep School need not turn into Stebbing Road, but will find entrance signs on the left hand side just past the Chequers Public House.
