How to Become a Professional Cricket Player - Essex Cricket & Felsted School

On 28 January 2021, Felsted and Essex Cricket hosted a live event with former and current cricket professionals. The purpose of the evening was for young players to hear about each of their individual pathways to professional cricket and gain inspiration from them. Each cricketer was interviewed by the Director of Felsted Cricket, Jason Gallian, and Head of Felsted Girls' Cricket, Carla Rudd. We then heard from Barry Hyam, Essex Performance Manager and Felsted Headmaster, Chris Townsend on pathway opportunities for young players. The final part of the evening involved a live Q and A from viewers, where they were able to get their questions answered by the panel. You can enjoy the recording of the event here, lasting approximately 80 minutes.

It is a great pleasure to work with Felsted’s elite players and to develop cricketing ability at all levels throughout the School.Jason Gallian, Head of Cricket (ex-England and county player)

Jason, Felsted’s Head of Cricket, has a genuine interest in our son’s cricket. He took the time during Easter training to share what my son should work on and this has been invaluable. Along with lots of cricket chat this has really helped cement our decision to send our son to Felsted.
