Pre-Prep Admissions (ages 4-6)

We understand what a big decision it is for you to choose the right school for your child. We aim to make the process as simple as possible and have a number of options for you to get to know Felsted.

1. Open Mornings

We hold regular mid week Open Mornings throughout the year in our purpose built Pre-Prep Department for this age group, called Stewart House.

You are also welcome to join us for a Whole School Open Morning, which are held on a Saturday in May and September, where you will be able to meet our Early Years' teachers and take a tour of the whole Prep School from Reception through to Year 8. If you have the energy, you may also wish to visit the Senior School afterwards and enjoy a delicious school lunch.

* Please note our younger pupils will not be in school on a Saturday for the Whole School Open Morning so if you wish to see Stewart House in action it is best to come to a mid week Open Morning or book an individual visit during the week.

2. Taster Mornings

Join us for a fun and interactive learning Taster Morning, which includes a one hour story or music session with an experienced teacher and a tour of Stewart House by Mrs Jac Atkins, with a particular focus on our vibrant Reception classes. The sessions are for children starting Reception in 2018 and also provides parents with an ideal opportunity to meet and interact with families and children of the same age. We can also arrange taster sessions for entry into Year 1 and 2, where places are available.

3. Individual Visit

Book an individual visit at your convenience to meet Headmaster, Mr Simon James and Head of Stewart House, Mrs Jac Atkins, and enjoy a tour of the whole Prep School by some of our older students. Please allow 1.5hrs for this visit.

Register with us

We encourage you to register with us by completing our Registration Form and fee as soon as you are ready; once we have this, you are then included on our list of applicants for the appropriate year and will be contacted for taster days and any assessments required. Please contact the Admissions Office before registering for 2018 entry, to ensure we have places remaining.

We would like to make this process as smooth as possible for our prospective families, so please do contact us at any stage if you would like further clarification.
