Rugby

A core sport for boys, Felsted has become a powerhouse in the game. Competitive fixtures are played from the Prep School onwards and there are a number of rugby sevens fixtures in the spring term.

Felsted’s Director of Rugby (ex Wasps RFC), Andrew Le Chevalier, brings a wealth of experience to Felsted, encompassing the game as a whole across all ages. All Rugby squads in the senior school train together and the same basic skills are promoted at all ages. Basic handling, movement and contact skills are practised continuously.

The concept of playing ‘heads-up rugby’ is promoted at all times, encouraging players to be confident to keep the ball, support each other and back themselves at all times. The individual experience as part of the rugby collective ensures a positive and productive one with match day performance rated over results.
