This six week course offers students the opportunity to explore various techniques used in ceramics from a beginner to intermediate level. It is suitable for those with no experience but equally facilitates the needs of students who wish to develop their skills in ceramics from making through to glaze and firing techniques. No prior knowledge or experience of clay is required by participants who are beginners. The aim of the course is to explore in a relaxed and informal atmosphere, building items from clay and their decoration with the support and guidance of an experienced tutor. By using various techniques such as slab building, coiling, throwing, casting and sculptural methods participants will learn how to choose and adapt a building method to suit the item they wish to produce.
£80.00 An additional fee of approximately £10.00 - £15.00 (dependent on the items made) for clay, glazing and firing costs; will be due at the end of the course.
