We require invigilators to assist with public examinations held in the Senior School from 3rd May 2010 until 25th June 2010. Invigilators would be expected to be present for a significant number of morning [0830-1230] and/or afternoon [1330-1730] sessions during this period.
Working as a team, invigilators contribute to ensuring a calm environment for the exams, giving candidates confidence in the process. Specifically, invigilators assist the Examinations’ Officer to ensure all candidates have an equal opportunity to do well, ensure exam security before, during and after the exam, prevent possible candidate malpractice and prevent possible administration failures.
The role requires the invigilator to assist in distributing exam papers and other material at the start of and during the session, collecting in completed scripts, invigilating candidates during the exam and helping with the preparation for the next session. Invigilators may also be asked to supervise small groups of candidates during short breaks in their exams. The role requires organisation skills and a calm nature in order to ensure that the examinations are held in accordance with the QCA [Qualifications and Curriculum Authority] guidelines.
Training for all prospective invigilators will be provided near to the start of the examinations.
The rate of pay per session (4 hours) is £30 which is inclusive of any payment for holiday pay.
