Farleigh Hospice have recently been presented with a cheque for £1,000 as a result of their Autumn Fair which was organised by the two day houses prior to Christmas. This sum is enough to fund 100 home visits by a specialist nurse or 100 clinic treatments so well done to all those who were involved.

Monts beat the odds in their defeat of Elwyns in the senior House cricket reaching the final for the second year running. It was a great team effort but man of the match was Chris Withers who hade a major contribution in enabling Monts to score over 200 runs and he took three wickets.

Monts has produced the Head of School for the second year running. Luke Jones has been appointed Head of School to succeed fellow Monts 'boy' Ed Hutley. Congratulations to him, he fully deserves it.

Head of House next year will be Toby Shadarevian and Deptuty Head of House is Balinga Sabiti. After an excellent year under the leadership of Oliver Harvey, the house will be in good hands for another year.

·        Golf

Three members of Monts are in the 6 man golf team. With the inter house competition later this term we are hopeful of success. However handicaps were bogus ones could be our downfall!

·        CCF

Ed Bennett and Luke Jones represented the school team that came third in a major competition this weekend (23,24) and were commended for their efforts.

·        Rugby

Yes I know it is late in the season but Oliver Salisbury-Higgs’ has recovered from injury and is now playing again for Saracens. Chris Withers and Jonathan Keane have also been laying for the U15 side and will be playing in a 10 aside tournament.

·        Alex Paternott

Our thoughts go out to Alex this month. He is on the critical list and will be having an operation later this month. We all wish him well.

·        Junior House Social

This was a great success. The theme was Chavs and Chavettes. The lower sixth and year 11 worked hard to produce a basic but effective decoration. Over 120 pupils attended. Photos will appear soon!
