Mrs Phillips is the most recently appointed Housemistress. She was invited to run the newly formed Day House for girls when it was opened in September 2007. Mrs Phillips has been associated with The Felsted Schools since 1994 when she worked “over the road” in the Pre-Preparatory School and has been at Felsted School since 1997.
After attending High Wycombe High School for Girls, Mrs Phillips studied Librarianship at the Ealing School of Librarianship (University of West London). On completion of her degree she was appointed Assistant Librarian at the British Standards Institution and three years later took up a post at IBM UK Education Centre where she was instrumental in establishing the Library and Information/Marketing Centre. She was also part of the team which delivered training courses to undergraduates and prospective customers.
After her move to Essex, Mrs Phillips worked in the Special Needs Department at Notley High School, before joining Felsted. As well as teaching PACE and providing SFL, she is also one of the Careers Advisers.
Mrs Phillips is widowed and has two grown up sons both of whom were pupils at the school. Her eldest son plays cricket professionally for Essex and the youngest one teaches PE and coaches sport at Felsted. In her spare time Mrs Phillips enjoys travelling, playing tennis and watching all sport.
