Sun Chang, Yr 10, has been awarded a Distinction in the 2010 UKMT Olympiad Hamilton Paper. Sun qualified for this next round after performing brilliantly in the UKMT Intermediate Mathematics Challenge, taken by 71 Felsted pupils in February.

The Hamilton paper is a 2 hour paper, consisting of six questions worth a total of 60 marks, each one involving different and challenging mathematical concepts and problem solving. Sun scored an amazing 59 out of 60 marks, earning him a Distinction (awarded to top 25% candidates), as well as a UKMT medal (awarded to top 100 candidates) and a book prize (awarded to top 50 candidates). In fact only seven candidates nationally scored 60 marks, so Sun was actually within the top 10!

This is an amazing achievement and no other Felsted pupil has ever scored so highly on one of the UKMT Olympiad mathematics papers before. Congratulations to Sun for this marvellous achievement!

June 2009

Gepp's House have donated £2,000 to Farleigh Hospice.  The money was raised from an Art Auction where parents and members of staff bid for paintings by pupils and members of the art department.  The money will be go towards providing free patient care.

March 2009

The House Feast was a very enjoyable evening.  It was an opportunity to recap on the year that had passed but more importantly to remember the times of the boys leaving the house this year.  Notable highlights was the Head of House's speech and the interval entertainment which was provided by Oliver Coulson and the Gepp's Band with their own version of "Brown Sugar".
