Michael Sugden joined Elwyn’s as Housemaster in September of 2005. He had a great knowledge of Felsted before joining the house, having worked at the school for 16 years before he joined Elwyn’s. Michael is supported by his wife Gill who currently teaches languages part time at Felsted Preparatory School. Michael and Gill also have a young daughter called Poppy.
As well as the challenging, but exciting task of running a house of 70 boys, Michael also teaches French and German in the school as well as taking part in the sporting side of the school. Before Felsted he was educated at Cambridge University where he studied Modern Languages. He then went on to teach at Sherborne School, and Scotch College, Melbourne.
As well as having a huge passion for Elwyn’s, his interests include sport (especially tennis), foreign travel, hill walking, reading, cooking and Volkswagen Camper Vans.
