Meet the Assistant HM

Peter Bennett became AHM in Elwyn’s in September 2004 after just one year on the House tutor team. He teaches music and was responsible for introducing Music Technology to Felsted School. Prior to a career in teaching, Peter enjoyed a successful career as a freelance French-Horn player, playing for many of England’s premier orchestras and ensembles including the London Symphony Orchestra and the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.  Peter was educated at the Guildhall School of Music in London.

Peter brings his wealth of experience to all aspects of musical life in the school and conducts the Brass Ensemble and Wind Band. Other interests include motor sport and cycling and he is a keen mechanic; he can often be found working on his Hillman Imp.

Peter is married to Becky, a professional cellist, and they are the proud parents of William who enjoys keeping them awake at night. They share their house with Jess, a former resident of the Battersea Dog’s Home and together they enjoy long walks and holidaying in the UK.
