| The Pre-Prep Department provides a structured, caring and secure environment for children aged between 4 and 7 years. There are two classes in each year group (Reception to Year 2) with approximately 16 children in each class so that every pupil receives individual care and attention. Three Classroom Assistants support the Class Teachers and we are committed to ensuring each child's education and welfare. We stress the importance of a caring attitude towards others and help the children to develop good relationships within the school.

New Pre-Prep Building for September 2011

Felsted Preparatory School is delighted to announce that building work on the new purpose built Pre-Preparatory School has started. The two storey building, designed by architects, Cowper Griffith Architects of Cambridge, will provide nine bright and modern classrooms for children aged four to seven. A library, reception area, offices and a multi-purpose hall (for lunch and for games, assemblies and other activities) will also be included. All areas have been designed with input from the current Head of the Pre-Preparatory Department, Mrs Jane West and her team. The space has been designed around the needs of children during their early stages of education. The new building will allow us all to work in an efficient and energizing environment.
Felsted will be looking at energy sources in line with their Green Policy and will endeavour to use environmentally friendly methods wherever possible. Click here to view the proposed plans: Plan 1, Plan 2, Plan 3.
